Biographical Notes English author and schoolmistress. Besides the travelogue The Irish Tourist (1837) that is attributed to her, she wrote England and its People (1860), a school history, several hymns, historical tales, and a popular biography of Sir Thomas More. The Irish Tourist (1837) is attributed to her. However, the narrator has a male persona in apparently non-fictional, narrative parts of the book, is addressed as 'Sir' and refers to himself as belonging to the category 'English gentleman'.
