Biographical Notes Church of Ireland clergyman, travel writer. A journal from 1775, remained manuscript and published only in the 19th century, testifies of his vision of life in England. He wanted to disseminate a better knowledge of Ireland in England by his "Philosophical Survey of the South of Ireland" (1778). He has also written books of religious and political nature, and contributed to a new edition of Camden's "Britannia".
