Biographical Notes Nineteenth century French writer and artist, published accounts of travels in Italy, Russia, England, North America, the West Indies and Egypt, notably his Voyage en Amérique, en Italie, en Sicile et en Egypte pendant les années 1816, 1817, 1818 et 1819 which includes his investigation of the site of the pyramids at Giza making reference to Herodatus’ descriptions of the same site. De Montulé was nominated as a member of the Legion of Honour.
