It is a full apodemic program combined with a political dissertation, with an emphasis on moral issues, for the use of young noblemen. The knowledge of a nation is essential in the creation of the right policy. Bellus makes the distinction between an idle and dangerous curiosity, and a noble curiosity, oriented towards useful political knowledge. His description scheme, probably under the influence of Zwinger and Neugebauer, follows the four causae of Aristotle. |
