| Authorship Notes | The preface to J. F. Bernard's 'Recueil de Voiages du Nord' is mostly written in praise of travel, but has some moral considerations and practical advice, and suggests a cooperation between "habiles gens" to create a definite set of travel instructions for everybody's benefit. This preface may be by J.F. Bernard who published, and it seems edited, this work, and who authored the dedication to Tzar Peter I. The 'Discours ...' appears vol. 1, pp. i-xliv (1715). | ||||||||
