| Notes |
The earliest extant edition appears to be Lyon, 1678. Monga, Hodoeporics, following Boucher, identifies the first edition as Geneva, 1670. Stagl, Apodemiken, identifies an early edition as Geneva, 1676, a reference which also appears in Leopold Berchtold, 'An Essay to Direct and Extend the Inquiries of Patriotic Travellers' (1789). Neither of these early editions appear extant, and the references may be spurious. Later editions and printings were very numerous and included Paris, 1679, Basel, 1679, Lyon, 1681, Paris, 1684, Amsterdam, 1685, Paris, 1686, Lyon, 1688, and a great many translated English editions. |
