Authorship Notes Moryson's 'Itinerary' contains two apodemic chapters interspersed with proverbs and quotations from ancient philosophers and scripture. 'Of Travelling in General' occurs part III pp. 1-11 followed immediately by 'Of Precepts for Travellers' pp. 11-17. Moryson states that old men, children and women are unfit to travel and deems middle age as best for travelling. The traveller should make his will and reconcile with his enemies before departure. Moryson discusses virtues and vices of travelling. The traveller should observe customs, laws and manners and record his findings morning and evening. He should visit learned men and learn languages. Moryson also advises on the preservation of health and religion.

Containeth a iournall through all the said twelue dominions: shewing particularly the number of miles, the soyle of the country, the situation of cities, the descriptions of them, with all monuments in each place worth the seeing, as also the rates of hiring coaches or horses from place to place, with each daies expences for diet, horse-meate, and the like. The II. part. Containeth the rebellion of Hugh, Earle of Tyrone, and the appeasing thereof: written also in forme of a iournall. The III. part. Containeth a discourse vpon seuerall heads, through all the said seuerall dominions.
