Authorship Notes The apodemic entry 'Of Travel' occurs at pp. 180-85 in vol. I. It begins with a praise of travel drawn from several authors ancient and modern, and continues with a list of skills and attributes the traveller must have (e.g. 'he' must be over 18 and have a liberal arts education). It then gives a brief list of instructions to the traveller, stipulating that they should take care of their diet and be careful of local customs, as well as advising learning the language, and recording remarks on the natural, social, economic, legal and political characteristics of the country visited. It ends with a bibliography of texts on the art of travel.
