After the printed instructions for one of the pupils of his diplomatic school travelling to Brazil (see 'Quelques Conseils à un jeune voyageur'), Hauterive added a brief set of instructions for a European destination as well - the example he chose was Prussia. Diplomats during their missions should gather information of all sorts, particularly regarding national character, and a national biography of all key persons within the state. |
