Sidney's letter (addressing his younger brother, Robert) is a personal reflection on moral themes and travel. The letter occurs at pp. 74-103 of the 'Profitable Instructions'. Roger Kuin has ‘tentatively dated this letter to February 1579 as it was at this time that Robert left England with Languet and his party’. Sir Stephen Powle’s reminiscent dating places it at 1581. See 'The Correspondence of Sir Philip Sidney', 2 vols, ed. Roger Kuin (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2012), 2: 877-82.
