Macaulay's apodemic comments occur as brief remarks in Letter XV, pp. 140-42, though throughout the 'Letters on Education' she makes repeated references to the practice of the Grand Tour. Macaulay is deeply critical of the Grand Tour and suggests that the only significant education it offers is 'a large addition of foreign follies and vices' (p.140). |
